Maryland Escape Room Trainings

Finish Strong in 2025

We recently visited Potomac Valley Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Rockville (photos above) and the Calvert County Health Department in Prince Frederick (photos below) to deliver this interactive training. We hope your staff found the training engaging and informative, and that it reinforced essential infection control practices to help ensure their safety and the safety of everyone in your facility.

We extend our appreciation to those who continue to request the MD Project Firstline Escape Room training. The ongoing support provided by 16 of Maryland’s 24 local health departments has been instrumental in allowing us to showcase the resources available to healthcare professionals and environmental services staff. We look forward to partnering with other Maryland health departments and their teams in 2026.

We concluded the year with a training for the team at Tender Care Dentistry in Charlotte Hall (photos below) and look forward to the many trainings we already have scheduled for the coming year.

MD Project Firstline has completed over 60 training sessions in 2025, including webinars, skills clinics, and Escape Rooms. Since July, we have trained approximately 500 staff across numerous healthcare settings. We are looking forward to a busy 2026 and are committed to providing you with updated CDC resources and training to address your infection control training needs.

MD Project Firstline recently attended the annual membership meetings and holiday parties for LifeSpan and the Coalition of Geriatric Services (COGS). MD Project Firstline's Lynne Layug, left, and Dianne Kaschak, paused for a photo op with a special visitor at the recent COGS meeting.

We enjoy working with the leadership and members of both organizations and were pleased to share the holiday spirit with you.

As we prepare to recognize pharmacists in January, here are some interesting tidbits:

  • Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, and Ginger Ale were all invented by pharmacists.
  • Before running for President of the United States, Hubert Humphrey earned his pharmacy license and worked in his father's pharmacy.
  • Did you ever wonder how Agatha Christie came to know so much about poisons for her murder mysteries? She was a pharmacy dispenser during World War I.

And as we celebrate National Pediatrician Day on January 28, did you know that same day is also the anniversary of the patent for LEGOs (1958), a toy loved by millions of kids worldwide. Coincidence?

Recognitions to kick off the new year include National CRNA Week for Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (above image) during the week of January 18-24.

Other recognitions include:

  • National Pharmacist Day: January 12
  • National IV Nurse Day: January 25
  • National Pediatrician Day: January 28

MD Project Firstline has been honored to share this CDC free infection control training program with healthcare and EVS staff in healthcare settings across Maryland in 2025. If we have not visited your facility, please complete a Request for Training so we can schedule to partner with you in 2026!

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
