Infection Prevention Skills Put to the Test in Project Firstline Escape Room Trainings Over the past month, MD Project Firstline has engaged
healthcare professionals, environmental services staff, and nursing students
across Maryland through our interactive Escape Room infection prevention
training.
Thank you to Nancy Hannafin, Clinical Associate Professor at
Towson University in Towson, for inviting us back to work with junior
first-year nursing students. The session provided an engaging, hands-on
opportunity for students to strengthen their infection prevention knowledge and
skills.
We are grateful for the continued support of the Autumn Lake
communities and were pleased to bring the Escape Room training to Autumn
Lake at Braddock Heights in Frederick. We also enjoyed working with the
diverse team of healthcare professionals at Homewood Living, Frederick,
whose enthusiasm and participation helped make the session a success.
The staff at Broadmead Community in Towson welcomed
our team and demonstrated a strong commitment to infection prevention through
their active participation. We also extend our sincere thanks to the healthcare
professionals at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for their
service and dedication to our country. Their attention to detail, teamwork, and
positive spirit made for an engaging and memorable training session.

staff. Maryland Department of Health Shares Update on Measles and Current Vaccination Schedules
The Maryland Department of Health (MDH) issued a press
release on September 16, 2026,
regarding possible measles exposure from a person who visited the state while
contagious. Please review the press release for information about measles prevention,
transmission, symptoms and what to do if you think you may have been exposed.
MDH also shared

letter providing updated Maryland statewide
2026-2027 vaccine recommendations and schedules. Please review
