Grants are awarded each year to critical care professionals who seek funding to advance critical care, offering opportunities for established and early-career researchers.


Applications are now open and close on June 19, 2026.

Public Comment Open for Proposed ICD-10-CM Sepsis Updates

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Health Statistics, which maintains the ICD-10-CM guidelines for coding diseases in U.S. healthcare settings, is considering several important updates to sepsis coding, including:
  • Replacing the term β€œsevere sepsis” with β€œorgan dysfunction associated with sepsis”
  • Introducing new codes for impending sepsis, infection with systemic inflammatory response syndrome, and infection with a positive sepsis diagnostic aid
  • Adding new codes for specific organ dysfunction categories associated with sepsis (such as respiratory dysfunction associated with sepsis)

You are encouraged to review the proposals and submit comments to help shape future sepsis coding and documentation practices. Public comments are open through May 15, 2026.

CoARC Call for Comments on Proposed Degree Advancement Eligibility Revision

The Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) is proposing a revision to the eligibility requirements in the Degree Advancement Standards. CoARC is accepting comments for this proposed revision by Thursday, May 21, 2026.

Bring Experts to Institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina

The 2026 U.S. Fulbright Specialist Program is accepting applications from eligible host institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina to bring qualified U.S. scholars and professionals to their organizations for short-term projects.

Projects must focus on education or training and may include workshops, lectures, curriculum development, workforce development, or institutional assessments in fields including public and global health. This opportunity is most relevant for universities, research institutes, public health organizations, teaching hospitals, ministries, and nongovernmental institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina that are interested in building capacity through short-term collaboration with U.S. experts.

Applications will be accepted until July 31, 2026.
