It Is Antibiotic Awareness Week!

‌Antibiotic stewardship—the effort to measure and improve how antibiotics are prescribed by clinicians and used by patients—is critical for protecting patients from harm and combating antimicrobial resistance.

To help facilities evaluate their antibiotic stewardship activities, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and global partners have developed the Global Antibiotic Stewardship Evaluation Tool (G-ASET) for Inpatient Healthcare Facilities. This tool helps facilities evaluate their antibiotic stewardship programs, identify major areas for improvement, and track progress over time.

‌Want to brush up on how to effectively manage complex infections, especially those caused by multidrug-resistant gram-positive, gram-negative, and anaerobic pathogens?

SCCM's Navigating Infections in Critical Care: Evidence-Based Approaches to Antimicrobial Use online course helps you improve patient outcomes by enabling application of up-to-date strategies for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of these infections.
