Special Pathogen Preparedness Funding Available

The National Emerging Special Pathogens Training and Education Center (NETEC) supports U.S. healthcare facilities through education, training, assessments, and technical assistance to improve preparedness for high-consequence infectious diseases.

As part of this effort, NETEC is currently accepting applications for a funding opportunity that will provide up to $500,000 each to 21 eligible U.S. healthcare facilities to strengthen special pathogen preparedness, enhance institutional and regional readiness, and support ongoing participation in the nation's special pathogen response network. A total of $10.5 million is available to support U.S. healthcare facilities seeking to develop or maintain capabilities as Level 2 Special Pathogen Treatment Centers—a critical tier in the National Special Pathogen System.

Awardees will also gain access to NETEC training, consultation, and technical support while joining a national Community of Practice dedicated to high-consequence infectious disease preparedness and response.

Practice ICU Rounds With VCCR

Prepare students, residents, and fellows to contribute to the diagnosis and management of the critically ill patient during their intensive care unit (ICU) rounds with Virtual Critical Care Rounds (VCCR).

Through self-directed or director-led courses, learners will be able to recognize emergent conditions and describe appropriate interventions, analyze case scenarios and explain treatment options, and recommend treatment strategies for critically ill adults or children based on medical history, physical examination, and diagnostic data.
