‌Message from CEO

As we wind down the calendar year, it is a good time to take account of all that we are grateful for. I remain grateful to the member leaders who continue to help shape our programs and services, contribute to our professional development and continuing education opportunities, and partner with us to sustain important initiatives. At Amigos’ core is a commitment to resource sharing, reflected in the sharing of materials and collections that can only be achieved at scale with multiple libraries working together. It's also a sharing of expertise, leadership, time, and opportunities. That commitment to sharing is one of the hallmarks of libraries. We share with our communities, but we also share with each other as institutions committed to the same values and purpose.

Over the past two months, I have shared some opportunities to contribute to our new strategic plan. We have introduced a series of short, one-question surveys to better understand the interests of members and libraries across our region. This month’s survey focuses on resource sharing and asks “What does resource sharing mean in today's library environment? And how can Amigos help fulfill that need?” We would love to hear from you and appreciate your engagement with our future work.

As always, please reach out to membership@amigos.org or email me directly at figueroa@amigos.org to talk about how Amigos can partner with your library.
