Conference season is in full swing, and we hope to see you along the way! This fall, Amigos will be attending the annual conferences for the Arizona Library Association (October 21 – 23), Arkansas Library Association (October 16 – 18), Kansas Library Association (October 28 – 30), and Missouri Library Association (October 6 – 7). NWILL Scholarship Recipients Bring Conference Insights Back to Their Libraries
Amigos provided scholarships for five library professionals to attend the Northwest Interlibrary Loan (NWILL) and Resource Sharing Conference. The scholarships expanded access to professional development while giving recipients opportunities to explore new ideas, connect with colleagues, and identify practical improvements for their libraries.
Three scholarship recipients shared how the conference strengthened their knowledge and inspired changes ranging from more accessible signage to enhanced interlibrary loan services and intentional leadership development. These recipients’ experiences demonstrate how Amigos provided scholarships help member libraries grow and expand their professional development budgets to improve their libraries and communities.

Metadata Courses and Micro-Credential Certificate Offered This Fall
Join featured trainer Elliot Williams to build your metadata expertise through four comprehensive courses. Each course is designed to strengthen your understanding of metadata concepts, standards, quality, and relationships.

Metadata Basics (October 13)
Metadata Standards and Types (October 20)
Metadata Quality, Customization, Exchange, and Transformation (October 27)
Metadata Relationships (November 3)
To earn the Metadata Principles and Practices Micro-Credential certificate, participants must complete all four courses, submit individual course assignments, and successfully complete the final capstone project. Registration for the capstone is required by October 16, and there is a $70 fee.
December Online Conference Call for Proposals Now Open
Amigos invites proposals from staff at member libraries and the wider library community for individual or panel sessions at its upcoming online conference, Future Driven Collections, on December 9, 2026. The conference will explore innovative and sustainable approaches that support access today while preparing libraries for the opportunities and challenges of tomorrow.

Oxford University Press will move the American National Biography and Oxford Dictionary of National Biography to the Oxford Academic platform on October 22, 2026.
Libraries that subscribe to either resource should review Oxford University Press’s transition guidance and complete the required actions before, during, and after the move. The move is part of a larger initiative to bring most of its academic research content to Oxford Academic by the end of 2027, creating a more consistent research experience across its publications.
