New NISO Recommended Practice Supports Collaborative Collection Management
The National Information Standards Organization (NISO) recently published its new Collaborative Collections Lifecycle Infrastructure Project (CCLIP) Recommended Practice, a framework designed to help libraries and consortia work together more effectively when developing, managing, sharing, and preserving collections. The guidance addresses key areas, including governance, acquisitions, metadata, assessment, and infrastructure, needed to support collaborative collection management across institutions.

Call for Proposals: The Flexible Library September 2026 Online Conference
The call for proposals for our next topical online conference, The Flexible Library, is open! The Flexible Library will be held online on September 23, 2026. The deadline for proposals is August 12, 2026.
This past year's change to make Amigos' continuing education opportunities free to member libraries has resulted in a significant increase in registrations. However, this has also led to an uptick in duplicate registrations for the same course.
To keep our registration process running smoothly and manage the small per-registration costs that come with our system, and to ensure good service to members, we ask that individuals register only once for each course. We also ask that registrants use their work email when registering to maintain consistency in their learning experience and for ease of access. See a course that catches your eye and not sure if you’ve already registered? Search for learning@amigos.org in your inbox to find confirmation emails for any registered courses.
Thank you for your interest in Amigos' continuing education courses and for helping us keep our registrations clean and accurate.
