Call for Proposals: The Flexible Library September 2026 Online Conference
The call for proposals for our next topical online conference, The Flexible Library, is now open! The Flexible Library will be held online on September 23, 2026.
The Amigos Continuing Education schedule for July through September is now live, offering a variety of courses designed to support library staff at all levels. As a reminder, all courses are free for everyone at member libraries, including administrators, librarians, staff, volunteers, and student employees.
This makes it easy to register multiple team members for the same session and turn training into a shared learning experience. Attending a course together as a team can spark conversation, reinforce key concepts, and provide a foundation for applying new ideas in daily work.
Duke University Press Offers Free Trial of Music and Sound Studies
Containing 221 titles, Duke University Press’s Music and Sound Studies e-book collection pushes at the edges of how music is discussed. Its innovative ethnomusicology titles find new links between music and culture, and its groundbreaking sound studies titles establish a new framework for theorizing the larger context of how we listen. The collection also includes essential works in jazz studies and popular music studies, biographies and memoirs of prominent musicians, and essay collections by important music critics. Addressing musical cultures from around the world, this interdisciplinary collection considers music and sound broadly, taking into account all their social, cultural, physiological, and technological dimensions.
