Dear Faculty and Staff,
Over the past couple of decades, we have had the tradition of launching our Fall semester with events like Convocation or, more recently, the State of TXST — a special opportunity to gather as a community, reflect on our accomplishments, and look ahead to the work before us. This year, we are approaching things a little differently.
San Marcos Events
Instead of holding our State of TXST gathering on the Friday before classes begin, we are moving the event to early Spring 2026 to help us kick off the new calendar year with fresh momentum. This change will allow us to offer an even more informative experience to celebrate where we are and where we are going.
Of course, we will still come together for our annual LBJ Kickoff on Friday, August 22, from 6–8 p.m. at UFCU Stadium. Keep an eye out for your evite from Presidential Events and Projects this week, and be sure to RSVP for you and your family.
Round Rock Events
We will mark the 20th anniversary of our Round Rock Campus during Homecoming Week with the annual Round Rock Campus Cookout on October 21 from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. I know it will be a great time for faculty, staff, and students to connect and celebrate.
We’ll close the academic year and cap off Round Rock’s 20th anniversary celebrations with the State of TXST RRC on April 24, 2026.
I’m looking forward to seeing you at these and other events throughout the year. Your dedication and spirit are what make TXST so special. Together, we will continue to build a legacy that inspires generations of Bobcats to come.
See you soon!
Sincerely,
Kelly Damphousse
President
