Dear Friends,

Over the past few years, we have heard from faculty and staff members that the timing of the annual LBJ Kickoff event at UFCU Stadium conflicted with other back-to-school events and responsibilities. There were also concerns about the heat this time of year.

To accommodate those concerns, we have decided to try something different this year, replacing the LBJ event in August with a larger, more family-friendly Faculty and Staff Celebration Night at UFCU Stadium on April 16.

This will mean much more comfortable temperatures while also making it easier on everyone’s schedules.

The new Faculty & Staff Celebration Night is just one of several opportunities we are pursuing this year to show how much you are appreciated. There are several events we are planning for this fall, all of which will feature free or reduced-cost tickets for faculty and staff members:

• Aug. 3: Bobcats and Bubbles (some tickets still available)
• Sept. 11: Back the Bobcats Block Party at Zelicks
• Sept. 19: Faculty and Staff Football Game vs North Texas at UFCU Stadium
• Dec. 10: TXST Night at the Sights and Sounds of Christmas

More details on the later events will be coming soon.
