After an extensive search process, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Carolus Brown as Associate Dean of Students, effective today, Sept. 8.
Associate Dean of Students, Carolus Brown
Carolus Brown brings more than 25 years of leadership in higher education, with expertise in student support services, student conduct and case management, basic needs programs, and academic-community partnerships.
Most recently, Carolus served as Dean of Students and Director of Housing at the University of Silicon Valley, where he launched a Behavioral Intervention Team that reduced repeat incidents involving students of concern by 40%, developed trauma-informed and equity-minded training for faculty and staff, and expanded food security support through the Dragon Pantry.
Prior to that, he held multiple leadership roles at Stanford University, including Assistant Dean of Students & Residence Dean, and Associate Director of the Black Community Services Center, where he worked extensively in student conduct, crisis response, Title IX support, and culturally responsive student engagement.
Carolus holds a Master’s degree in Education Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, both from the University of Mississippi.
