Dear Student Affairs Family,

I am pleased to announce a timely interim reporting change designed to further strengthen Cal State San Marcos’ mission and goals, and to position our institution for success within the new systemwide Student Success Framework.

Beginning November 17, the Career Center will report to the Senior Director of the Student Lifecycle, Dr. Natacha Cesar-Davis. This organizational alignment will enhance the excellent cross-divisional work the Career Center already leads between Student Affairs and Academic Affairs by establishing a formal reporting structure that connects the two divisions more strategically.

This action supports forward planning as we align with the new CSU Student Success Framework, which affirms that “every CSU student will graduate with the opportunity for a first career job and/or a clear path for further study.”  The Career Center is central to fulfilling this goal, placing career readiness and opportunity at the heart of every student’s CSUSM experience.

Please join me in supporting this important transition as we continue to advance CSUSM’s commitment to student success and social mobility.

Sincerely,

Viridiana Diaz, Ed.D.

Vice President for Student Affairs
