Dear Student Affairs,

Our annual Office Decorating Contest is coming this October!

This year’s theme: “It’s Showtime – A Musical Celebration”! Each office or department can choose any musical, on or off Broadway. Whether you’re inspired by the magic of Wicked, the mystery of The Phantom of the Opera, or another show-stopping favorite, let your creativity shine.

Offices interested in participating should sign-up by October 1, 2025. If your first choice has already been claimed, please choose a different musical. Selections are first come, first served, so sign up quickly!

Judging will be based on four categories: creativity, acting/role play, costumes, and office décor and will take place on October 31, 2025. We ask that decorations be set up by October 24 to allow for guests to visit your space from October 27 through October 31. 

As a reminder, in preparation for this year’s festivities, we ask that each participating office be mindful of the following considerations:

• Does it mock cultural or religious symbols?  
• Does it trivialize human suffering or oppression?  
• Does it lean into stereotypes or attempt to represent an entire culture or ethnicity?  
• If unsure, consider going in a different direction.
