June STAR Award Recipient
Allura Murray-Cruz
Assistant Director of the APIDA Center, Student Life
The STAR Award honors staff and faculty whose exceptional contributions exemplify our division’s mission to transform lives, one student at a time, whether through direct student engagement or vital behind-the-scenes support.
Allura is being recognized for her outstanding leadership and commitment to student success through her work supporting the Ujamaa and APIDA Residential Academies. She played a critical role in planning and coordinating these week-long programs, leading mentor training and onboarding more than 16 student staff members while collaborating with campus partners to ensure every aspect of the academies was thoughtfully organized. Her professionalism, exceptional organizational skills, and collaborative approach have been instrumental in ensuring the success of these academies, helping foster welcoming and meaningful experiences for incoming students as they begin their journey at CSUSM.
