New NACo resource on rural behavioral health services

Rural county behavioral health resources often must serve diverse populations across large distances.

  • New resource: NACo and the National Association of County Behavioral Health & Developmental Disability Directors created a messaging brief for rural and frontier county leaders to explore strategies that advance behavioral health care in unique settings through collaboration, policy and community-based solutions.

  • Strengthening communities: By administering services such as crisis stabilization, workforce support and mobile outreach, rural county leaders build systems that empower communities with dignity, independence and respect.
