Messaging to Support a Behavioral Health Continuum of Care: Rural and Frontier County Leaders
Rural and frontier county leaders face a distinct set of challenges compared to their urban counterparts; less densely populated jurisdictions’ resources must serve diverse populations spread out across large distances. By administering services such as crisis stabilization, workforce support and mobile outreach, these leaders build systems that empower their communities with dignity, independence, and respect. To aid their work and highlight their successes, NACo and NACBHDD created a messaging brief for rural and frontier county leaders to explore different strategies to advance behavioral health care for their unique settings through collaboration, policy and community-based solutions.
